Dear Seniors,
Reminders regarding November 1st College Application Deadline(s):
Even though you technically have until 11:59 pm of Monday, October 31, 2017 to submit your application, we suggest submitting it once you have completed and reviewed your application. The Common Application server is typically slow the evening and night before a November 1 deadline.
If you submit an application through the Common Application, you should receive an email from the Common Application confirming that you successfully submitted an application to NAME University. Keep these emails as a record.
Please review the attached sheet, which was distributed during workshop and in several past emails, regarding who is responsible for submitting what items.
Please note - Even though items are submitted electronically, it is still a human process as a person(s) on the college end typically has to download all of the submissions received which can take 1-2 business weeks. Many colleges provide on line portals which allow applicants to view what has been received. Even though these portals may be "live" they are being updated. Typically it takes an admission office 1-2 weeks from the deadline date  to reflect on a applicant's portal what has been received. Remember they are receiving and sorting through thousands of electronic submissions of applications,transcripts, standardized test scores, etc.. Do not be alarmed if an ancillary item is listed as"not received " for a few days after the application deadline.

Essays for College Counselor Review
Your college counselor is more than happy to review your essays and give feedback.
If you are applying early (November 1 deadline) – The last day to get your essays to your college counselor was Tuesday, October 18.
If you are applying early (November 15 deadline) - The last day to get your essays to your college counselor is Wednesday, November 2.
If you are applying regular decision (January 1/15 deadline) - The last day to get your essays to your college counselor is Tuesday, December 15.
Senior College Days
Friday, November 11
This day is an excused absence that a senior can use for college visits or to work on the application and essays. Also, seniors have three additional excused days but must pick up the paperwork in CCO. It is wise to save one or two of the additional excused absences for the spring.
