Hey you,

It is seriously fall now. I can't believe summer is really, truly over. I
am sucker for it. I had such a nice August, good travels with my family,
and not too much on the work front. Now we are seriously back into real
life. Gwyn is seamlessly back into the swing of things at Sheridan. She
really loves school and her diabetes is just fine, no drama on that front.
Liv's second year at Sidwell is good in that she is happy to be there,
finding a nice group of girls to hang with (although not without the
drama). But as you pointed out years ago, it is hard to be Sidwell, you
feel surrounded by people far smarter than you, and failure feels so
imminent. So Liv is struggling a bit with the work, and she can go down
the rabbit hole so easily. Having teenagers kinda sucks btw. But I am
trying to keep her centered. We'll see how it goes. I also have no idea
if she likes a boy. I really want the dirt but can't get it out of her. I
am also feeling a little unconnected from the greater Sidwell community.
It is hard to meet cool parents when you are just dropping off and picking
up. I am on the Quaker Life Committee but you know, that is the Committee
of misfit toys. I have to keep trying harder on that front.

Though I pretend otherwise, in the next few months I have to find a new job
as I am political at the FCC and so once the Chairman is out, I am out.
Trying to get my game face on.

How are you? As always, no pressure in the least, but also as always, I am
sending you lots of love. I miss you and Beau. Shout if you need anything
or want to hang.
