Dear Colleague:

The US-Jordan Business Alliance (USJBA) was founded under the auspices of His Majesty King Abdullah of Jordan in 2004. Over the years, we have had the pleasure of meeting you at some of our events and wanted to provide you with a little background information on what USJBA does, and what we are planning for 2011. USJBA works closely with our American Advisory group, our Steering Committee Charter members, as well as with the Jordanian government and private sector, to endeavor toward our organization's mission, which is: to promote and enhance the economic and commercial ties between the United States and Jordan. Headed by Mr. John Chambers, CEO of Cisco, our advisory group is comprised of buisiness leaders directly involved with His Majesty in furthering the mutual interests between the US and Jordan. USJBA strives to meet this mission by encouraging dialogue between policy makers and thought leaders in Jordan and the US, addressing the concerns of US and Jordanian businesses, and strengthening how we cooperate and collaborate together. In order to accomplish these goals, we rely on developing a membership network focused on the unique US-Jordan economic relationship, which is why I am writing you today.

USJBA provides a range of benefits to our membership, such as: in-country introductions and contacts; general information on companies in Jordan; private meetings with key ministers during trade missions to Jordan or in-bound visits; information on Jordanian government tenders on upcoming projects; and, invitations and discounts to programs and events. In 2011, we will offer a number of activities, including:


Tools of the Trade workshop with USAID, EXIM Bank, USTR, MCC, OPIC, Commerce and TDA on what programs are available to US companies involved in Jordan
A trade and investment mission for US companies interested in looking at Jordan as a destination for business
The Second Annual Jordan-US Investment and Trade Forum in Jordan
Annual Ambassador's Luncheon with Her Excellency, Dr. Alia Hatoug-Bouran, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United States of America
Bi-Monthly Roundtable Series with the Economic and Commerce Bureau (ECB) and/or with US government officials, focusing on relevant/current developments in US-Jordan trade and investment;


Attached is a file with our membership application which also details benefits for each level. If you decide to join, simply indicate the level of membership you are interested in, fill out the relevant information, and return it via email to: USJBAlliance@aol.com. We will then forward an invoice to you. And, as a special incentive to new members who join before the end of December, a 20% discount will be applied to the final invoice.
