It is with great joy that I am writing to inform you of my appointment to Wilmington City Council to represent the Third District for the remaining two years of the vacant seat. I received a call today from the Committee Chair to inform me of my selection and I would like to thank at this time the members of the Ad Hoc Selection Committee (Councilmember’s Griffiths, Freel, Shabazz, Ignudo, and Congo) for this opportunity and I look forward to joining the other members of Council.


I am so humbled to represent the community in which I grew up and rich history of the Third District. The Third District has a bright future that will provide a “World-Class” education, Homeownership, Workforce Development, and Entrepreneurial ventures. I look forward to working with the civic associations, organizations, and institutions that are dedicated to providing Access and Opportunity to every resident of the Third District. Please join me as I endeavor to campaign for a cause, The Campaign for Access and Opportunity is to develop connectivity throughout the neighborhoods within the Third Council District by promoting equitable and affordable housing, enhancing economic competitiveness, improving health care access, leveraging investment and improving their quality of life. This Initiative is to provide urban revitalization and sustainability to distressed neighborhoods home by home, resident by resident, and block by block throughout the Third District.
