Hi Adults (different proposal going out to younger kids), Maureen has offered up a challenge this year: She reminds us that we went a little "green" last year. But now asks, "Can we go COMPLETELY green this year?" Well, Virginia, I think we can! She (and the Aunts are going along with this) are proposing that the Secret Santa gift you bring be something you already own. But NOT a White Elephant kind of gift. Rather, it should be something that you love and from which you must struggle to part. Something that is special to you and that will be special to the person lucky enough to get (and keep) it. Once it's wrapped and put into the pile, the regular rules will apply (all made up and revised on the spot every year). This may be a problem for those people who live pristine lives, who pride themselves on only needing the bare essentials. Not me, of course. I actually can't seem to get enough "stuff" in my life and am sure I can find something very special to gift. Remember, this is NOT typical "regifting." This is NOT "I-can-finally-get-rid-of-this-ugly-thing" re-gifting. It is pure, green, gift of love. Love, The Aunts
