Apologies for all the e-mails As information, the long-term continuing resolution passed by the House Dec. 8 has a short list of programs where FY 2011 funding would differ from FY 2010 levels. This list includes a cut in high speed and intercity passenger rail from $2.5 billion to the $1.0 billion level in President Obama's budget request, the bill that Senate Appropriations approved July 22, and the omnibus that Senate Appropriations Chairman Inouye unveiled this week. (The regular FY 2011 DOT appropriations bill passed by the House July 29 had $1.4 billion.) For Amtrak, the new Senate omnibus has $1.9 billion, close to what the Senate Appropriations Committee approved in July. The House-passed DOT appropriations bill (from July) gave Amtrak $1.766 billion, but the House's continuing resolution-as implied above-holds Amtrak to the 2010 level of $1.565 billion. -Ross Capon, President & CEO, National Association of Railroad Passengers www.narprail.org<http://www.narprail.org> 202-408-8362, mobile 301-385-6438
