The House passed legislation to end the government shutdown, hours after Senate Democrats dropped their opposition to the plan.

In return for Democratic support for the bill, which would fund the government through Feb. 8, Senate Republicans agreed to hold a vote on immigration legislation in the coming weeks.

President Donald Trump is expected to quickly sign the bill.
