Congress’ failure to pass a continuing resolution to fund our government resulted in a government shutdown late last night. Steve King and the GOP’s blatant refusal to work in a bipartisan manner to keep the government running shows just how much is at stake this November. Keeping the government functioning is the least our elected leaders can do.

We need representatives who are willing to come together and put people and common sense before party affiliations or corporate donors. That’s the only way we’re going to be able to make sure people of all ages can thrive and enjoy futures brighter than today.

We need to take our government’s failures and let them fuel our action.
