<div>All students in the Class of 2019 received their college counselor assignment today by coming into the college counseling office. We are excited to be working with the Class of 2019.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Every student received a letter with their college counselor assignment and the time of their 1st scheduled one on one appointment. All juniors will have <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em>two one on one college counselor appointmen</em>ts</span></strong>. The first appointment has already been scheduled and the date and time of that first one on one appointment is included in the letter that was handed to them today. It is up to the student to schedule the 2nd one on one appointment through Ms. Morillas after completing the 1st one on one appointment. All junior family meetings will take place after spring break. If a family requires a conversation about spring break college visits, college counselors are able to schedule a phone call call to answer any questions. </div>

<div> After these two one on one appointments have occurred prior to spring break - a family meeting can take place after spring break. </div>

<div>All Juniors will receive an email with a student questionnaire to be completed before their 1st one on one meeting. The link is

<div>Parents will receive a Parent Questionnaire in February to completed by the end of March.</div>

<div>Just some reminders:</div>

<div>The College Counseling Office hours are from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday.</div>

<li>Meetings are scheduled around Student's free periods and by contacting Ms. Morillas at morillasj@sidwell.edu </li>
<li>The college counselors do their best to reply to emails in a timely fashion. All email correspondence will be sent no earlier than 8:00 am and no later than 8:00 pm Monday- Friday.</li>
<li>Though the school day ends at 3:19 pm (meaning the latest meeting that can occur begins at 3:19 pm and goes until 4:00 pm), late counselor availability is limited due to many faculty/staff meetings that take place at the end of the day.</li>
<li>All meetings in junior and senior year are either with students individually or students with their parents/families. </li>

<div><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">For the Calendar - Spring and Summer 2018</span></strong></div>
<div> </div>
<div><strong>Capital Case Studie</strong>s - A program designed to help junior students and their families learn more about the College Admissions process - will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 6:30 pm in conjunction with GDS held at Sidwell Friends.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Juniors will participate in <strong>4 college counseling workshops</strong> this spring which has been included in their schedule and is part of their school day.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>The <strong>Washington Area Independent Schools (WAIS) College Fai</strong>r - Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 6:30 pm held at Georgetown Prep, N Bethesda, MD. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>The CCO will offer two optional <strong>Summer Application Workshop</strong>s this summer in the upper school building. On line sign ups will occur in the Spring 2018 via email to juniors (in which parents will be copied.)</div>
