This administration's plan also rolls back crucial safety measures put into place after the Deepwater Horizon spill that devastated the Gulf Coast -- all while opening over a billion acres to new drilling along almost every mile of America’s coastlines. It’s a recipe for disaster.

Just one spill anywhere along the Atlantic Coast would devastate Delaware’s environment, and suffer a huge blow to our economy. Six hundred thousand Delaware jobs are tied to tourism and recreation along our coastline, and the beach region contributes almost $7 billion to Delaware’s economy.

This administration's new plan is just their latest attempt to roll back common-sense protections for our imperiled environment. From pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement to gutting the EPA, Trump and the GOP’s leadership want to dismantle the progress we’ve made in recent years.

They’re playing favorites, too. Florida’s Republican governor recently secured a waiver from Trump’s new drilling plan because it might harm Florida’s economy and tourism. But we all know a spill would devastate Rehoboth Beach just as much as Miami Beach.
