Confidence for Obama's Policies Edges Up A new CNN/Opinion Research survey shows that the public has grown more confident in President Obama's policies in the last month or so. The surveys finds that 55% of respondents believe Obama's policies would move America in the right direction, with 42% saying they'd move America the wrong way. A month ago, Americans were split evenly at 49% to 49%. Meanwhile, the survey also finds Obama's approval/disapproval at 48%/48%, which is essentially unchanged since he brokered the tax-cut compromise. Said pollster Keating Holland: "But while he has lost some ground with liberals, he has gained support among moderates. That's important if Obama plans to borrow a page from former President Bill Clinton's playbook and try to win re-election by 'triangulating' between the leaders of both parties on the Hill." Eric D.
