Team: Take a look below - Bob Walker is already Trusted Advisor status. Well done country boy. And 47% market share of the ATM market in India? That is what I call "pretty good". Huge "story" in that a 150 year old American company has 47 % share of anything in India or anywhere overseas is amazing (ala Boeing, Caterpillar like dominance) We should leverage the Ravi relationship as he said he knows the Chairmen of the top 10 banks in India (and any other banking type relationship). Rob - can you open up the dialog with Ravi? My understanding that in the US, selling the ATM is a break-even business. The $ is in the service of the machine, the software licensing and managing the float and other transaction fees. Let hit this hard and see what happens. What do you guys think? Senthil Dear all - please take a quick look at this letter. I plan on sending it over the weekend/ Monday am. Phil and Keith - please confirm the city selection below. Marija BEGIN TEXT Dear Minister Senthil, I am writing to express my sincere thank you for meeting with myself and Rob Walker this week. We were pleased to provide you and your staff with an introduction to NCR's operations in India. We also appreciated the opportunity to learn more about your priorities for FDI and industry more broadly in India. You offered us a very valuable perspective on investment in India, expected national and industry growth, talent, infrastructure and government priorities for FDI. As mentioned during the meeting, NCR has been pleased with our experience to date in India and we hope to find opportunities to augment our operations in the future. We have pan-India presence with offices in Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and a manufacturing plant in Puducherry. Over 2,200 of our employees are based in India. In 2009 NCR India generated cumulative revenue in excess of U.S. $250 million for domestic and international markets, and we have 47% of ATM marketshare in India. The strength and growth of our operations throughout India in recent years bears testimony to our commitment and the constructive relations we have enjoyed in India. We now have a pretty exciting and challenging task ahead of us of augmenting our existing business model and envisioning and building the future model of NCR in India. We are currently interested in commencing investment conversations with four cities: Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, and Mysore. As discussed in our meeting, we appreciate your offer to facilitate an introduction with the appropriate State Industry Secretaries and decisionmakers in the above-mentioned locations. We are planning to visit India in February, and we would appreciate establishing contact with these officials as soon as possible. We very much look forward to future collaboration with you and your team. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. Yours sincerely, Marija Zivanovic-Smith END TEXT
