Good morning everyone,
I’ve attached the draft 990 for you to review. This needs to be filed by May 15. If folks could review and vote via email to approve by WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, we can have it filed in time. If you have questions about the 990, Patty and I are happy to answer them, or set up a call for our accountant to answer them.
We’re also going through the process to file our solicitation licenses in various states. Two in particular (PA and MD) require audited financials for a nonprofit with our revenue in 2017 ($1,000,000+). We reached out to 3 firms and got bids. Belfant Lyons came in at $12,000, Whisman Giordano came in at $8,500 and Master Sidlow came in at $5,000. Just FYI, Belfant is our accountant, and they prepared our 990. If you could all review these proposals and vote via email by WEDNESDAY, MAY 9, we can get the process moving. My original goal was to have the audit completed by June 1, but I think that’s too aggressive of a time line. The sooner we can start the audit process, the sooner we can get our solicitation licenses filed and avoid penalties.
