Executive Committee— I wanted to let you know what bonus structure I implemented for employees with the $10,000 you have allowed me to distribute. I broke the award into 2 parts- a yearly “holiday” bonus and a merit bonus. The yearly bonus for everyone was $500. This is available by policy to full time employees employed for three or more months. The merit bonuses are available for : 1. individuals employed on a full time basis for 6 months or more, and; 2. awarded to those individuals who have demonstrated substantial commitment to the organization and whose exceptional work resulted in furtherance our mission. I awarded as follows: Josh- $3500; Claudine $3500; and Dominique $1000. So, Josh will received $4000; Claudine $4000; Dominique $1000 and Dan $500 (he has only been here for 4 months). I don’t believe I can honestly assess merit with a period of less than 6 months. Therefore, of the $10,000 set aside I awarded $9500. I am taking staff to dinner at Brandywine Brewing Company for a holiday dinner, so the $500 will be available for that purpose and can include Amira, our public ally, as she is not permitted to accept any cash payments. And no worries, I will personally pay for any alcoholic beverages that folks order, and will cover any amount in excess of the $500 remaining from the bonus fund allotment (though I cannot imagine that will happen.) I do want to thank you for the $5000 awarded to me, and let you know that in light of the fact that I received a $4000 bonus as part of my evaluation in March 2018, for the year ending 2017, I will defer acceptance of that award until January 2019. Also, Josh advised that he is receiving the PAC contract this month; it will end on 12/31/18. Again, thank you for allowing me to provide some extra compensation for the staff. Best— Patty Patricia Dailey Lewis, Esquire Executive Director Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children www.beaubidenfoundation.org <http://www.beaubidenfoundation.org/> patty@beaubidenfoundation.org <mailto:patty@beaubidennfoundation.org> “We have seen the progress that can be made when society commits to shining a bright light on a crime like domestic violence, and we are seeing the beginning of what can be accomplished if we continue shining that bright light on child abuse. As adults, we have a legal and moral obligation to stand up and speak out for children who are being abused. These children cannot speak for themselves.” —Beau Biden
