Museum of Arts and Design The Jerome and Simona Chazen Building 2 Columbus Circle, New York City About the Exhibition: Tanya Aguiñiga: Craft & Care (http://www.madmuseum.org/exhibition/tanya-aguiniga-craft-and-care) May 8, 2018 to October 2, 2018 Tanya Aguiñiga: Craft & Care highlights the art and activism of Los Angeles–based artist and designer Tanya Aguiñiga, founder of AMBOS (Art Made Between Opposite Sides), a long-term initiative that activates sites along the US-Mexico border through collaborative art-making and storytelling projects. The exhibition will feature photographic documentation, radio broadcasts, ephemera, data, and an installation generated by AMBOS, as well as seven other projects from Aguiñiga’s ongoing design and artistic practice. Aguiñiga has established herself as a crucial voice working at the intersection of fiber art, design, social practice, and activism. At the heart of her practice is an inquiry into how community is created, and the role that craft, design, and materiality play in its formation. Tanya Aguiñiga: Craft & Care is curated by Shannon R. Stratton, MAD’s William and Mildred Lasdon Chief Curator, with the support of Assistant Manager of Curatorial Affairs Angelik Vizcarrondo-Laboy. http://madmuseum.org Tanya Aguiñiga, Performance Crafting, Community Felt-In, 2014 Courtesy of the artist This email was sent to rhb@rspdc.com (mailto:rhb@rspdc.com) why did I get this?
