Monthly Newsletter from JVC Northwest with news, updates, resources, & job opportunities. Message from the Executive Director April 22 marks the annual celebration of Earth Day. JVC Northwest is happy to be highlighting the newest value of JVC Northwest, ecological justice, in the resources of this edition of Community News as well as our upcoming edition of the Focus newsletter. Our Spring 2018 edition coming to your mailbox soon features articles from JVs, JV EnCorps members, and former JVs who are involved in various aspects of ecological justice work. I hope you will take time to read the edition cover to cover. Climate change is real and has its greatest impact on those who are marginalized. JVC Northwest wants to embrace the actions necessary to address the ecological, as well as the social, signs of the times. We each can make a difference in our life choices each day. I hope Earth Day provides us all the opportunity to reflect on and change our behavior and help make changes in our institutional life! Maybe you know about the Earth Day Network, which grew out of the first Earth Day and aims to “diversify, educate, and activate the environmental movement worldwide.” They are currently highlighting a campaign to end plastic pollution. Join the movement at https://www.earthday.org . -Jeanne Haster JVC Northwest News Seeking JV Applicants to Fill Open Positions Encourage friends and family to apply!
