R.Hunter: I have always believed that voters should choose their elected officials - not the other way around.

Republicans, though, have drawn congressional districts to best benefit their party - gerrymandering state after state and rigging the map to lock Democrats out of power in critical battleground districts. We have seen it happen in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Texas and around the country.

They are choosing partisan politics over our Constitution. That is disgraceful - and it's past time we do something about it.

For years, Republicans fought to take control of state legislatures and the redistricting process, creating obviously gerrymandered districts in order to ensure Republican control of Congress. Now, with a generation-defining election in just seven months, it's more important than ever that every one of us does our part to ensure the sanctity of our democracy and protect each citizen's right to choose their representative.

I am fighting GOP gerrymandering as hard as I can in the Senate - but I can't do it alone. Please, be one of the 5,000 people I need to sign our petition by midnight to tell Congress: End partisan gerrymandering!
