[ https://secure.actblue.com/page/vv_hobbs ]I want to introduce you to a very exciting candidate for Congress in the 1st Congressional District of Washington State, and ask that you lend support to him as he runs a very competitive race in a key district – Steve Hobbs. Like me, Steve is an Iraq War veteran and a veteran of the Kosovo campaign. He's running for the seat vacated by Rep. Jay Inslee, who is running for Governor.

There are quite a few candidates in the race, but let me tell you why Steve has our endorsement. Steve's experience in the community, in public service, and in the military give him the trifecta of experience that will make him an excellent representative for the people of the district. To accomplish all he has, in a relatively short period of time, just shows how much dedication and energy he brings to service. But, he's no neophyte. As a State Senator, he knows the issues in the community, and how to bring the concerns of the people to the halls of power.

In addition to representing the people of the 44th State Senate district, as he has for two terms, he is a member of the Washington Army National Guard and proudly served in Iraq and Kosovo. Steve joined the U.S. Army Reserves in 1987 in order to serve his country and to follow the footsteps of a family tradition of military service. Because he was seventeen, he had to get his parents' permission to join. After graduating from high school, Private Steve Hobbs shipped off to Fort Jackson, South Carolina, for basic training and later to Fort Huachuca, Arizona for his military occupation as an intelligence analyst. His military service spans many assignments and locations through-out Steve's over twenty years of service.
