By Emily Schultheis ( mailto:eschultheis@politico.com eschultheis@politico.com ; Twitter: @emilyrs) and Jose DelReal ( mailto:jdelreal@politico.com jdelreal@politico.com ; Twitter: @jdelreal) With help from Elizabeth Titus and Juana Summers OBAMACARE AND GOP CONGRESS COLLIDE IN COLORADO RACE: POLITICO's Jake Sherman reports on the intense and personal fight for Colorado's 6th Congressional District: "If [GOP incumbent Rep. Mike] Coffman exudes the military and physicality, with his thick gray calluses from the pushups, his Democratic rival, Andrew Romanoff, is the polished preppy. He was schooled at Harvard and Yale, drives a black Prius, and, with blindingly white teeth, looks very much the career politician. If Coffman dresses like a business executive, save for his ever-present cowboy boots, the wiry Romanoff favors khakis and an oxford shirt, with a black fleece on top. ... The contest is expected to be a magnet for outside money, and officials on both sides said the overall price tag for the entire campaign could exceed an extraordinary $25 million. That would make it one of the priciest campaigns in history, all for the support of the roughly 400,000 registered voters in this district that is roughly split among Republicans, Democrats and independents. This race will be a high-profile test of what offends voters more: Obamacare or the Republican Congress. Romanoff is running squarely against House Republicans' agenda, and Coffman is banking on the hope that voters will be sufficiently outraged about Obama's health plan to turn out on Election Day." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=87efc6e7d45f3d4e1c3ffbf90796dad20cdc09e9017c05747b68b19f87846e8d http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=87efc6e7d45f3d4e1c3ffbf90796dad20cdc09e9017c05747b68b19f87846e8d SCORE EXCLUSIVE-MOVEON POLLS IN SEVEN STATES: The progressive group MoveOn.org will release results today from polls it commissioned in seven states with competitive Senate or gubernatorial races. The automated polls, conducted by the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling, were part of a series the group did to gauge Medicaid approval in these states, though they did ask head-to-head matchup questions before they asked about policy proposals. Barbara Comstock is the definitive frontrunner in the race to replace retiring Rep. Frank Wolf, according to a new poll conducted by The Polling Company for the Citizens United Political Victory Fund (which is supporting Comstock in the race). Comstock takes 44 percent in the poll of GOP primary voters, compared with 10 percent for Bob Marshall, 3 percent for Bob Wasinger, Stephen Hollingshead and Howie Lind, and 1 percent for Marc Savitt. Though it doesn't mean she gets a free pass in the primary, Comstock is one of the few candidates this cycle that has united more establishment-type Republicans like Mitt Romney with the conservative groups like Citizens United. There's evidence of that in the poll: 57 percent of conservatives have a positive view of her, as do 62 percent of moderates. The Ryan budget underlies 'the top-testing negative message' against Republicans in at least 17 competitive House districts, the committees say. They name-check Republicans such as Coffman (CO-06) and David Valadao (CA-21), as well as open seats such as VA-10 and NJ-03, among the 76 districts where they plan to take their argument about Ryan's budget and the middle class this year. Incumbent GOP Sen. Thad Cochran's ad, "Don't Know," hits primary challenger Chris McDaniel's answer earlier this year on a question (by POLITICO) about whether he would have supported Hurricane Katrina disaster relief ( http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869cb8f12545200284e5c9202fea5aa09d969256d28290c468c http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869cb8f12545200284e5c9202fea5aa09d969256d28290c468c ). McDaniel himself didn't release an ad, but two GOP groups backing him did: the conservative Club for Growth, which has backed McDaniel, goes over Cochran's "five decades in Washington" ( http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a86992a5af29f6f1062200ea4fbc87a0696146aaf01cddfd4de4 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a86992a5af29f6f1062200ea4fbc87a0696146aaf01cddfd4de4 ), and the Senate Conservatives Fund ran a positive spot featuring clips of McDaniel's campaign speeches ( http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a8694d92b9243a913536ae120847992ed28c8f8a3cf4d190ea2c http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a8694d92b9243a913536ae120847992ed28c8f8a3cf4d190ea2c ). HOUSE MAJORITY PAC COMES TO RAHALL'S AID: The pro-Democratic House Majority PAC, which has already run several ads on behalf of West Virginia Rep. Nick Rahall, is going up with another one this week hitting Republican Evan Jenkins over a chemical spill in the state and his ties to the Kochs. "Three hundred thousand West Virginians without water," the ad says. "Evan Jenkins tried to delay a water safety bill to prevent another spill like the one in Freedom Industries, a corporate partner of the Koch brothers, the same Koch brothers who spent over $400,000 to elect Jenkins before the spill." The ad, which is part of a $65,000 buy for the week, comes just after CNN reported that Rahall wanted to retire, but that House Democratic leadership convinced him to seek another term. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869f6d2b1ff25be1ba9c20f2b72ad7d92b5b1cf83b42947e646 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869f6d2b1ff25be1ba9c20f2b72ad7d92b5b1cf83b42947e646 MORE DEM EFFORTS ON EQUAL PAY TODAY: In honor of Equal Pay Day today, Democratic groups are launching even more equal-pay related initiatives today. The pro-Democratic research group American Bridge is out with a new site, "Unequal Pay," that outlines Republican positions on the issue ( http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869ea9ffa9795a6575e438cd27445b1105d14258f6eaac8fc06 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869ea9ffa9795a6575e438cd27445b1105d14258f6eaac8fc06 ). The pro-Democratic women's group EMILY's List is going after Republican candidates in more than a dozen races today, saying that instead of helping women the GOP is "standing in their way" ( http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869a8d7db40eddb8c46cc7864791f0fee3d1a931dc7aa1b1b3a http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869a8d7db40eddb8c46cc7864791f0fee3d1a931dc7aa1b1b3a ). The group is also teaming up with the Democratic committees-the DNC, DSCC, DCCC and DGA-to launch a petition for equal pay legislation ( http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869e99e5778b13d3c03e1783567854fb1430995433a48f5e7d8 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869e99e5778b13d3c03e1783567854fb1430995433a48f5e7d8 ). THIS WEEK-HILLARY'S WEST COAST SWING: Hillary Clinton is headed to the West Coast for a flurry of speeches and events this week, a busier-than-usual swing that will no doubt be parsed and analyzed by 2016 observers. She begins today in San Francisco (your Score correspondent's hometown!) with a speech at the Marketo's Marketing Nation Summit, then up to Portland later today to launch the all-women World Affairs Council of Oregon speaker's series. On Thursday she's back in the Bay Area to speak at San Jose State University; she also speaks that day in Las Vegas to ISRI, a scrap metal and recycling group. On Friday she speaks to the Western Health Care Leadership Academy, which is meeting in San Diego, via satellite. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869a4b245922969535ac0312245d25f312f7571ee65101b73f7 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869a4b245922969535ac0312245d25f312f7571ee65101b73f7 SCOTT BROWN TO MAKE IT OFFICIAL ON THURSDAY: Former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown, after announcing an exploratory committee last month, is making his campaign official at a rally in Portsmouth on Thursday. He'll be introduced there by former GOP Gov. John H. Sununu ( http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869a2a27a0b971407e218f17fe6474958ca9ab910c7ab7755c8 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869a2a27a0b971407e218f17fe6474958ca9ab910c7ab7755c8 ). In advance of that event, Brown's campaign is releasing a new web video today featuring New Hampshire voters talking about Brown and why they think he's necessary for the state: http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a8692ebdd463ae7ab241471a2c928583e43ff85ef204610092eb http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a8692ebdd463ae7ab241471a2c928583e43ff85ef204610092eb . Meanwhile, the New Hampshire Democratic Party is out with a BuzzFeed post this morning on the "10 Things You Don't Do If You Want To Be New Hampshire's Senator": http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a8691d460110bab66a362f5d8bffa68879d4434bf2225cc8e659 http ://goo.gl/VP4G35 HAWKEYE STATE VISITS-IS IT 2014 OR 2016? There will be more than just 2014 Senate candidates at this year's Iowa GOP convention, according to the Des Moines Register: A bevy of 2016 hopefuls are heading to Iowa for the state's GOP convention-which may also be where the state's GOP Senate nominee is determined. (If no one candidate reaches 35 percent in the June 3 primary, the nominee will be chosen at the convention.) On tap to appear are Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum. It's worth noting that none of these pols have endorsed in the Senate race-in addition to the 2016 implications of these Iowa pilgrimages, it's certainly worth keeping an eye on their comments on the state's Senate race between now and June. http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a8693186bd6fee877cfdfa1905f1de3c24c5c856ee8e347a81dd http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a8693186bd6fee877cfdfa1905f1de3c24c5c856ee8e347a81dd JINDAL ALSO TO S.C.: The week before the Iowa GOP convo, Jindal will speak at the S.C. Trey Radel is drawing near, and state Senate Majority Leader Lizbeth Benacquisto is reportedly putting what's left of her TV budget, 'nearly six figures,' into an upbeat 30-second ad ( http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a8692d73c9a6bb0c7db2de4d27fa99e14fd3859f7681b0fd3b5d http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a8692d73c9a6bb0c7db2de4d27fa99e14fd3859f7681b0fd3b5d ). The Palin- and Huckabee-endorsed Benacquisto's move comes as another GOP hopeful, Curt Clawson, faces the fallout from a local news report that he rented a Utah property to a convicted sex offender ( http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a8696aebf01eec7ec25766a505d41dd74c50b60feb8734491415 http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a8696aebf01eec7ec25766a505d41dd74c50b60feb8734491415 Also competing for the nomination in southwest Florida's R+12 district is Paige Kreegel, who has benefitted from more than $500,000 in a single super PAC's outside spending ( http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869b9cb56c7e249f47671749b88bbacf871fc6446643808f63a http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=1c236c507813a869b9cb56c7e249f47671749b88bbacf871fc6446643808f63a ). MICHIGAN DEMS PRESS SNYDER ON FURNITURE CONTRACT: The Michigan Democratic Party continues to press the case that Gov. Rick Snyder's administration protected his cousin's furniture company from proposed state contract cuts. Party officials have claimed Snyder's putting family and political allies first, while asking Michigan's most vulnerable to sacrifice. Michigan Democratic Party Chairman Lon Johnson confronted Snyder at a breakfast event Monday to question him about the contract. Noting that the contract began before his tenure as governor, Snyder said there's "nothing to this at all" and people are "trying to occupy time and space and make this a story so we'll spend less time working on jobs." In a statement Monday, Johnson said that Snyder "doubled his cousin's new furniture contract, all while cutting education and placing unfair new taxes on our seniors and middle-class families." Snyder campaign staff and state officials have repeatedly dismissed the charges as election-year political games.
