It is now public. Congratulations! Good luck on the road ahead and thank you for your service. CC’d here are colleagues at the Department of Education and the Commission on Presidential Scholars to handle next steps. As we discussed, please note the following communications guidance as you await appointment. For your protection and so as to not complicate your appointment process, you should not speak to the press or put out personal releases. If you are contacted by the media, you should politely decline to speak with them and may refer them to the press office of Dept. of Education or to the White House Press Office. If a third party is interested putting out a press release on your behalf, please refer them to me, or your appointment contact at Department of Education. If an organization is looking for press guidance on releases related to the announcement, they should be put in contact with Shin Inouye in the White House Media Affairs office. His phone is (202) 456-6238 and his email is shin_inouye@who.eop.gov<javascript:_e(%7B%7D,'cvml','shin_inouye@who.eop.gov');>. Or with Dept. of Ed communications office.
