These three selectees are to be congratulated on their impressive records and accomplishments to date. As I have shared with people, today's selection boards are a game of millimeters in our superb community, which is full of talent. There are so many qualified and deserving officers whose packages are reviewed, but there are only a finite number of promotion slots available. I would encourage everyone to take the opportunity to review your record at least six months prior to your board, to ensure that you have an up-to-date photograph, that all of your awards are in your record, and that you have no gaps in service that are unaccounted for. If anything is missing from your record, or if anything might be confusing to either the briefer or the board members, I strongly encourage you to write a letter to the board to ensure any discrepancies are clarified and any missing information is supplied.
Again, congratulations to Captains (Sel) Borgquist, Danzinger and Filostrat. I look forward to working with them as they pin on the rank of captain and assume roles of increasing responsibility.
