Happy Monday! I wanted to follow up on Sarah’s email and thank you for your support as Host Committee member for the Muskie Awards Ceremony on May 1. We are excited for the event. I wanted to know if you wanted us to extend an invitation to anyone on your behalf. As well, if you could tell me the names of any guests you have. I want to make sure we have them on the list. Thank you again for you unwavering leadership it is truly inspiring. I’m honored to be working with you. Dear Members of the Boards, Hope you were all able to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend! Thank you all for such a lively, engaged conversation around fundraising at our last board meeting. As you probably know by now, one of our biggest fundraising opportunities -- the CNP Muskie Awards -- is right around the corner! This year's event will be held at the prestigious Army Navy Club on May 1st at 6pm and will honor Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin. A true public servant, Senator Durbin has been a friend of CNP and Truman for many years. That same evening, we'll also be announcing the joint Truman/CNP Board of Advisors, which includes names like Madeline Albright, Janet Napolitano, and General James Cartwright. More than half of the 45 member board has already confirmed their attendance at the event. Here's where you come in. In order to meet our ambitious fundraising goals for this event (and for the year), *we're asking each of you to join our Muskie Host Committee by personally committing help raise (or write) $2,500 or more and helping us sell tickets to the event. *Every little bit will help us get to our goal of $200,000! As part of this goal, we're also asking each of you to think of 3-5 of your contacts (or more if you've got them!) who might be likely to attend or sponsor the event. Think about people who: - Share your commitment to leadership development and convening the best minds to tackle today's global challenges; - Are highly philanthropic; - Would be open to supporting an organization that is important to you (either because of your personal relationship or because of you've previously supported a cause they care about); - See the Muskie Award Ceremony as a way to market or brand their organization with CNP. Just send along their name, email or physical address, and we can get them an invitation. (And don't worry -- we won't add them to our permanent mailing list unless you say it's okay.) Along with their contact info, we'd like to get a sense of what you think each person can contribute (a $125 ticket, $250 VIP ticket, or a higher level sponsorship of $2,500, $5,000 or more) so we can set goal accordingly. (Attached is a more detailed description of ticket/sponsorship information and talking points.) Robin will be following up with you towards the end of this week about how we can help you reach these goals. If you think of names in the meantime, you can email them to her at rmcqueen@trumancnp.org and we'll happily put an invite in the mail. Thanks as always for your incredible support. Please let us know if you have any questions!
