<p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">
I hope this announcement does not provoke another freak spring snowstorm, but
we now have a final resolution regarding make-up days in this year’s school
calendar.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Our accrediting body, the Association of independent
Maryland Schools (AIMS) received word during our spring break that all private
schools under their jurisdiction will be granted a two-day waiver for snow days
that would otherwise need to be made up. Before the waiver, we were in
need of recapturing three school days in our calendar this spring, so with this
waiver we are now obligated to make up only one day. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> </span><span style="font-family: Calibri;">At Sidwell Friends that day will be Memorial Day, a day that
is listed in our original calendar as a snow make-up day. No other
adjustments in the school calendar will be necessary. That is, Lower and
Middle School Closing Ceremonies will take place as originally planned on
Thursday June 5. Upper School Commencement remains on June 6.</span></p>
