Keep Calm and Serve On

On April 5, we hosted the 3rd Annual Catholic Charities High School Day of Service, involving 275 students from local Catholic high schools. They packaged over 5,880 breaksfasts for Cup of Joe, cleaned and landscaped the property of the 801 East Men's Shelter, and learned about our programs such as the Youth Transitional Program. Staff Attorney Plays Role in Passing Bill
Michelle Mendez, senior attorney with Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services (ILS), played a key role in passing a bill into Maryland law that extends jurisdiction for guardianship and custody proceedings to Special Immigrant Juvenile Staus (SIJI) eligible individuals over 18 but not yet 21. This puts jurisdiction on par with the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) definition of a "child". Get all of that? Because You Care

The McCarrick Medical and Dental Clinics celebrated 3 years on April 11 in their new, state of the art facility. Also, the SHARE Food Network celebrated 24 years on April 12 of providing affordable and healthy groceries to the community. Rock on!
Harriet Tubman Women's Shelter recently helped seven women successfully move into new or transitional housing. Moving on up!
