I had a call with Walter Cahill, Vice President of IATSE and more or less the Government Affairs Director in Washington, DC. Walter is also the Chairman of his local affiliate union's pension plan; a trustee of the East Coast Motion Picture and Television Plan; Walter is a purple heart recipient combat vet from Viet Nam (shrapnel to face and lost eye.)

Walter and I have been tasked, by President Loeb, to get your meeting set up asap. Walter will call me tomorrow or Monday to and give me dates to set it up. Both President Loeb and I agreed that we will have to move fast.

According to Walter, General President Loeb was incredibly impressed with my reasoning to meet and hopefully support you in your objectives.

More than likely, the meeting will take place in NY. It could be done very quickly. I am going to push Walter to get Jay North (? Is that right Mike) of the Director's Guild of America to meet with you too.

If I may make a suggestion - you will need to take Mike Mathis to the meeting. Matt Loeb recently learned who Mike's dad was and spoke admirably of him. Furthermore, I am not the right fit in this meeting and you will need only one.

Mike and I will get bio's and all that stuff.

From this point, I will relay the information back to Arlene. I know Eric is on vacation, but will include him on all emails so that he is kept in the loop.

Hunter, we will send you some stuff on issues relating to industry. Talking points style. Hell I think we could help get Chamber affiliates support - Mike thoughts?

One more thing. Arlene - I am going to get you those Oscar tickets if its the last thing I do - or at least die trying.

This is going to be fun. If you don't get it - at least you will make a set of new friends with connections and tangibles.

On a completely different note. Arlene, your meeting with Kevin O'Connor in Arizona went extremely well. Mike spoke briefly to Kevin and will email who, what, where and when.
