Hello. Lise Clavel suggested that you would be the right person to talk
about the Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows program which is launching later
this year.


The Fellows program is named for former Governors Jim Hunt (D-NC) and Tom
Kean (R-NJ) and is a national, non-partisan Fellowship which seeks senior
elected officials who are interested in advancing educational excellence in
their states.


We would love the Attorney General to be part of this program.


Recruitment for the first class is underway and will consist of 12-16
Fellows. The goal is to have equal representation from both political
parties. Fellows don't need to have a particular ideology on education,
but just have to be committed to be part of a cadre of leaders who focus on
education as a priority policy issue.


Currently, among the recruits thus far, we have four Lieutenant Governors,
one other Attorney General and a Speaker of the House. The time commitment
is to attend two full, in-person sessions (3 days each). The first session
is scheduled for this December and the second will be next summer.


I have attached some background on the program and would love to schedule a
time to talk to you more. This is a very exciting opportunity to bring
together a group of electeds who are and will continue to be leaders on
this very important issue.
