I think you’re right on the mark about what the content of any statement, be it by you or us, should include. I need to talk to Chris Boies about whether we as a firm can be part of any press announcement. My understanding is that we have an informal policy against allowing clients to tout us publicly to improve their own credibility but Chris and I are scheduled to talk about that in more detail later this week, as he considers Burisma’s specific request.

Keep me in the loop on your thinking about this. I think there intent in this moment of crisis domestically is to show that they are looking west by aligning themselves with the US and EU (former Pres. of Poland is also joining the board, KPMG, Schlumberger etc).

My thinking about any type of public statement, whether it comes from me as a board member or from the firm, is that it convey the idea that good corporate governance/ stewardship is as important to the success of a new Ukraine as good Government is. That means transparency, civic responsibility, and adherence to corporate ethics, responsibilities and rules expected of a global entity that Burisma aspires to become.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts. H

Burisma would like to put this news on our website, make press release and send it out to mass media.

If it’s ok with you we can prepare a draft and send to you for your corrections or approval.


Also we are considering to make an interview with one of the partners of the Boies, could be yourself and organize publishing it in Ukrainian general newspaper/magazine and maybe in professional legal one.

What do you think about that? If it’s ok, again we could do draft and send to you for your inputs.
