I absolutley agree with you on scaling this effort out. I will forward you an email from Tom on the basics of how we can begin to scope it.
The World Bank is a great place to start and we have friends there. They have a program called StAR (Stolen Asset Recovery) Program which is right in our wheel house for you what you described.
There are a couple of ways to work it: One is to have the country hire us and get a first lean against expenses on all recoveries and a percentage to us on top of that.
If we funded it ourselves and did really thorought due diligence on our first target, we could raise some dough, fund it ourselves and take a little bigger percentage. We have that deal with Liberia now.. I think it caps at 15% over $10 million.
The IOC would be another one. I set up two "strategic alliances" with firms in Chicago last summer when Tom and I were getting the AF peice underway so I have access to seasoned accountants that we can bring on as we need them.

We are probably going to be offered another full year here, but I won't stay so lets figure out how we begin this. Start with who the Team/company will be, you, me, Tom etc.
Then think about our mission statement which I will write. We have a website already Rmetrics.net, that we can take some of the wording from, but frankly our Scope Of Work here is one that can be tweaked into a full blown mission statement for the newco.
Then we think about what country to start with. You and I set up meetings with World Bank, African Development, Millenium Bank for starters. We take our current Liberian effort and role it in. We are about to file a $30 million dollar law suit against the Country of Serbia (Ironic isn't it) for violation of the UN Arms Embargo when Taylor was President. We have a very solid case great local council in Belgrade.

Even though little if anything will come from our forensic work here, we are referred to as the "secret sauce" because "following the money" is the ballgame.

I am ready to a) leave this rathole, and b) put together a world class international asset recovery firm, and know we can knock it out of the park.

If you plan to be in Europe or the Middle East in the next few months I will meet you where ever you want. Dubai is only 3 hours from here and I can connect to lots of places from there.
If not, we can do a lot of this by email, and when I am back spend a day or two flushing it out.

Let's take your business and turn it global an get clients who actually want to recoup their money. Jay Rouse who's worked on 27 International campaigns as a consultant has the "right" candidates who'd pay dearly for what we/ you could offer by uncovering corruption and flat out theft.


At least we would have high paying clients who would pursue our findings and maybe deliver some justice. An I think we could capitalize this into a legitimate business. If I could get someone to put up 2-5mm how many countries under the UN, ADB, IDB, IMF, Millennium Fund and real opposition parties do you think we could sign?


Who said "follow the money"-- I think it was deep throat. But think of the implications if we were able to actually put together a team of international forensic accountants/ investigators under the Auspices of a real brand with real reach and the ear of many major international institutions.


I'm very serious about it. The worst partner in this at the moment I'd the US- because they don't want the truth to be revealed-- it's too complicated. But their are others with deep pockets that want their money back intoning intended hands- nelumbo AIDS and tuberculous victims, etc... We could be the anti- backwater. We pick and choose carefully- sell on you impeccable credentials thus far and travel the world stealing money back from the really bad guys.

Honestly this mission is a noble one and could garner results if not for the fact that I am now certain that the US doesn't care if we ever get one dollar back, or freeze one dollar of power broker or insurgent.. currently as we are attempting to get bank records to isolate the flow of money through the contracting chain P4 (Petraeus) is putting these guys on the US payroll and trying to re-integrate them.. btw, this may be a fine strategy, but it runs counter to the entire TF 2010 mission statement.. My personal opinion is that the capacity building we are doing is the literally the biggest waste of US money in the history of the Republic.
The roads we built are already crumbling, 10 bridges got blown up two weeks ago, the vertical structures are all crumbling.. there is no infrastructure to sustain any of this..

Your pops has been right about this the whole time.. smaller foot print, small "kill/capture" teams, drone strikes and NO Nation Building...

Other than that I am great.. I work out 5 days a week..make lots of money... and may actually do some good here if they let us..
