It’s happening all over the country, and now right here at home. Missouri Republicans have pushed for fast-tracking legislation that would require specialized photo identification to vote, despite the fact that wide-scale voter fraud is a myth.

The impacts are unfolding, as students, veterans, and seniors who cannot show these forms of identification are being turned away from the voting booths. This undermines a timeless principle that keeps our country strong- one person, one vote.

Join me in standing up to protect voting rights for all!

Republicans argue that these voting restrictions are a stand against election fraud, but the truth of the matter is that most reported fraud comes from clerical errors. In fact, a 2007 University
of Chicago study shows that the likelihood of one voter assuming another’s identity at the polls is “an occurrence more rare than getting struck by lightning.” Those are pretty low chances.
