I had a reflective conversation with Rick this morning and thought I should
share with you as well.


Being on the phone yesterday for the WFP USA board meeting gave me a
perspective on the board that one doesn't get while in the room and actively
participating. Yesterday's meeting was the most well-run, substantive
meeting I have experienced at WFP USA -- thanks, first, to your good
leadership of the agenda and content, and second to the well-prepared and
engaged participation of the members.


We have come a long way from 3-5 years ago, and as I described to Rick, "we
are a grown-up board of directors now." Everyone understands their need to
exercise their fiduciary duties and their responsibilities. Rick and I
shared some ideas for the next strategic steps - we are in a good place,
with challenges, but also with the capabilities and competencies to face
them. Oh, and it was really good to hear all the laughter - a sign that
this board gets along and is comfortable with each other.
