President Obama and Iranian President HassanRouhani are doing their best to find an opening. Arrayed against them areforces on both sides that want the estrangement to continue. To what end ishard to discern, for the only outcome would be more death and destruction.Imagine the end of 35 yearsof enmity with Iran. It could begin the process of building trust between ourtwo countries that has been sorely missing. It could further lead to Iran'shelp in fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
