Hunter-- It was nice to see you yesterday. I know this is a difficult week, and I'm sorry to have to bring this to you now. There is a bill pending in the Delaware General Assembly, SB 251, that we are opposed to; it changes the mandatory reporting law to allow therapists to not report a case where an adult reports abuse as a child. It's a ridiculous concept, and as Josh recognized immediately, it's s slippery slope. It's bad law, and as Beau would say it's a "solution in search of a problem. " If you have a few minutes I'd love to discuss. There are a lot of other organizations opposed. Sen Karen Peterson, the primeSenate sponsor, invited me to a meeting on Friday morning to discuss options. I went to a similar meeting last week on a Delaware Erin's Law, which we had some real problems with, and have come up with a good bill, that even the schools were good with. The meeting was successful. I am hopeful to simply get the portion of the bill that allows this exception to be stricken. I don't see much room for compromise on this exemption. The Medical Society is the proponent. If you have a minute can you give me a call to discuss ? 302-379-0746. Thanks.
