Uber is definitely in the cards. Yes on Pemex, Televisa, Cemex, Banco Multiva and their affiliated companies, Oceanographia, etc. Don't forget Burisma and the non-Mexi folks too. This shiznit is global, cabron. Gotta find and hire the right Mexi to head it up there. Outside of Miguel's circle if possible. Need competence over access. And I understand the way in which we intend to differentiate ourselves. My question is who/ what is our natural market ally outside of the consumers themselves. M-Pesa reached scale through a partnership with Safaricom by creating a simple application via SMS and "minute purchasing" to allow for financial transactions for a population in which 70% of potential users owned "feature" phones not smart phones. >>> >>> E-Plata in theory is a much more consumer friendly and robust application. But who gets us to scale. Relying on employers alone requires two very time and money intensive endeavors- convincing employers and then convincing employees. The largest potential partner is the government- but that will require an enormous effort on the part of our Mexican partner to push for adoption by the bureaucracy and then massive national E-Plata education program. >>> >>> Just wondering who is the best first major partner outside Interjet. Obviously Slims provide that if we could actually sell them on the idea and not have them just take it and create their own. It's hard to believe they haven't seen the growth in M-Pesa and haven't already begun developing a plan. >>> >>> The largest private sector employer in Mexico is Walmart- 209K employees. Our perfect target audience with the added benefit of Walmart adopting E-Plata at the POS. And Greg Penner (next Chairman of the Board) is a friend. >>> >>> RHB >>> 202.333.1880 >>> >>>> On Feb 22, 2015, at 8:02 AM, Jeffrey Cooper <jcooper@eudoraglobal.com> wrote: >>>> >>>> Yeah MPesa is a good example of the market potential. Mobile phones are quickly helping change this statistic. Today more than 55 million Africans use basic phone services to transfer money with each other, take out insurance policies, and collect payments from government agencies. Although only a few bucks per transaction, Africa's "mobile market" is huge, topping $61 billion USD in 2012, with more mobile money sent than the equivalent markets of Europe and North America combined. In fact, mobile money accounts have outnumbered bank accounts in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Madagascar. Across sub-Saharan Africa, more people have a mobile money accounts than Facebook accounts. In 2007 the mobile carriers Safaricom and Vodacom launched the service M-Pesa to allow customers to store credit on their mobile phone accounts to pay bills or buy products. Money can be transferred to merchants, people, or government agencies through a creditor's related phone number. Through this approach, debits are deducted directly mobile phone accounts, without the need to fuss over a bank account. >>>>> >>>>> >>>>> RHB >>>>> 202.333.188
