I will likely be going to Latvia for the July 4th re-dedication of the
memorial commemorating the destruction of the Great Choral Synagogue
during WW II. The memorial has fallen into some disrepair and the
U.S. Commission is helping to restore it.

Incidentally, the Synagogue was not just destroyed but burned down
while a number of Latvian Jews were locked inside.

I have raised a significant chunk of the money but still am trying to
raise the remainder. I was originally going to ask Norvik and Grigory
may be aware of it but there were some internal issues in Latvia (not
necessarily related to Norvik) that make that difficult. I may want
your help to see if I can come up with a few more $1000 checks.

Regardless, the current plan is for me to travel to Riga on July 4th
to be the US Government representative at the dedication ceremony.
