Make sure my business I being taken care of.'

"I mean, gimme a break. All of the money she is raising is blood money. ... Look, she is getting tremendous amounts from Wall Street. She is going to take care of Wall Street."

TOP TALKER - Boston Globe p. A1, below fold, "Clinton campaign vetting Warren as it weighs possible running mates," by Annie Linskey and Victoria McGrane in N.Y.: "Doubling down on the historic nature of Clinton's bid ... would generate enormous enthusiasm ... among liberals and young people, especially young women. And, after all, presidential campaigns have featured pairings of men for centuries." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=00119515eaee1251d4d5866d08e7062acb43bfe058a70994112b84040825bdf9

DRIVING THE DAY - "In speech, Trump to ramp up critique of Clinton as failure," by AP's Julie Pace and birthday girl Jill Colvin in N.Y.: "Seeking to refocus his presidential campaign, Donald Trump will lambast Democratic rival Hillary Clinton as a failed secretary of state who is out of step with Americans on trade and immigration. Trump's address [at 11 a.m. at the Trump Soho hotel] marks his official opening salvo against Clinton ... in the general election. ...

"'Hillary Clinton had a four-year tryout ... as secretary of state,' said Stephen Miller, a Trump policy adviser. 'She ran the State Department and the world went up in flames. --"Clinton allies circle the wagons against Trump speech," by Gabe Debenedetti in Raleigh: "A constellation of groups in the presumptive Democratic nominee's political orbit is prepping a wide-ranging response to Trump's downtown Manhattan speech ... that will include a series of memos, rapid response releases, and calculated silences designed to paint the Republican as both corrupt and a peddler of conspiracy theories." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=00119515eaee12519661b09f78e91ce842cd89e88527e4a796163270d688fd48

But Republican activists clamoring to block Donald Trump from the GOP nomination say they're suddenly in the midst of a Dump-Trump bump. ... 'It's implausible but not impossible given the unrest,' said Randy Evans, a Republican National Committeeman from Georgia. ...

"[F]ormer U.S. Sen. Gordon Humphrey ... [said] he'll work full-time to help encourage New England delegates to rebel ... Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker endorsed one of their preferred methods for stopping Trump: freeing all 2,472 ... delegates to vote their conscience, rather than abiding by rules and state laws that bind them.'" http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=00119515eaee125178dce36c7f3bf66cd3a077dbe0c48c0feca99f579e5f30c4

CLEVELANDWATCH -- "Dump Trump movement preparing fight at GOP convention," by AP's Stephen Ohlemacher: "Several hundred Republican delegates are organizing to oppose Trump at the convention. That's not enough delegates to topple Trump. But it's more than enough to create turmoil at an event that is typically used to bring a political party together ... There could be floor fights over convention rules and the party's platform. ...

"[I]nstead of a coronation, the roll call to nominate Trump could be an opportunity for delegates to voice their displeasure on national television. 'What's worse for the Republican Party ... one week of absolute chaos ... or four and a half months of this looming, rolling catastrophe?' conservative Milwaukee radio host Charlie Sykes said on his Tuesday show." http://go.politicoemail.com/?qs=00119515eaee1251fde9218371b1b9f1dab4ec7d9ae6e6d8c119819764c37381

SHOT -- "RNC blasts 'false narrative' on Trump finances," by Tyler Pager: Sean Spicer told CNN: "You're looking at the Trump campaign through the prism of the Hillary Clinton campaign. Chris Christie of New Jersey. But the ticket price for that event is only $500, a paltry sum for a presidential campaign, and only 260 people have signed up. ...

"Charles Spies, a Republican election lawyer who advised the 'super PAC' that supported Jeb Bush, said Mr. Trump would have to put in an enormous amount of his own money to jump-start his campaign and win over big donors. DEEP DIVE -- "Inside Trump's Most Valuable Tower: Felons, Dictators and Girl Scouts," by Bloomberg's Zeke Faux and Max Abelson: "'Iconic and wonderful,' Donald J. Trump said at a South Carolina town hall event last year, praising the 86-year-old Art Deco tower as one of his great possessions. ... But the 72-story building has housed frauds, thieves, boiler rooms and penny-stock schemers since Trump took it over in 1995 ...
